Celebrate the World
In the spring of 1972, several ethnic group leaders got together with an idea to organize an art and cultural festival in the Capital District. The purpose was three-fold.  The first was to prove how well people with diverse backgrounds can work together and have lots of fun doing it;the second was to present a glimpse of the world to the residents of the Capital District; and the third w...

The word got around about us – how much enjoyment we offer for the family on one Sunday afternoon in the Fall of every year.  Now there are several international bazaars/festivals in the area.  They are organized by different institutions.  Our Festival of Nations remains the original.  It is unique, in the sense that we, the participating nations, ourselves, organize everythin...

Bangladeshi American is a relatively new Community in the Capital District area. Most of Bangladeshi American are not even aware of scopes and opportunities. Despite their tremendous overseas educational background, skill, and ability, only due to lack of contemporary knowledge of information, most of them could not even reach closer to what they actually deserve. The families needed to be well informed, and the parents deserved to be educated and familiar with the needs and abilities of the youth and children in order to plan and direct them. We established a non-profit organization, ORGANIZATION OF BANGLADESHI AMERICAN COMMUNITY (OBAC) in May 2008. We have more than 200 families living in this area.
