  • Local Community Information

The Pakistan Association of New York Capital District has been active in organizing various cultural programs in the Capital district area for the last 35 years. Currently we have more than 700 Pakistani families living in the area. Since 1988, PakSA (Pakistan Students Association at RPI), a Rensselaer Student Union funded cultural organization, has been presenting and promoting Pakistani culture to the RPI campus and catering to the needs of students and the community with Pakistani heritage. Since 1990, we have been airing a radio program, “Awaz-e-Pakistan”, at WRPI, Troy, 91.5 FM every Saturday between 10 a.m. and noon.

  • Performance

The students from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will represent Pakistani culture by showcasing some traditional outfits from all the provinces of Pakistan. This will be followed by a Bhangra performance by the PakSA Bhangra Team including Wasif Khan, Omar Waqar, Ahmad Ausat, Shreel Joshi, Aneil Bharathsingh.

Bombay Grill from Latham, NY will be catering some ethnic Pakistani cuisine including Kebabs, Chicken Tikka Masala, Naans and Dessert.
